A business is set to create 20 new jobs after securing funding from the West Lothian Economic Growth Plan.

Stevenswood manufactures conservatories and windows and is now set to take on staff, including four people under the age of 21, after being awarded £85,000 to help it to develop.

The award is the second success for the company recently after it made a successful application for £220,000 of Regional Selective Assistance.

That funding supported the costs of Stevenswood relocating to new premises at Houston Industrial Estate in Livingston, to allow it to increase its production capacity.

Executive councillor for development and transport, Cathy Muldoon, said she was pleased that the fund has been able to help the company.

She said: “The aim of the WLEGP is to help local businesses to grow and create jobs.

“The Enterprise Sub Group is delighted to support Stevenswood with its ambitious growth plan.”

Ron Hepburn, director of Stevenswood, said he was delighted with the award from the WLEGP.

He said: “Support of £85,000 from the WLEGP was fantastic news.

“It will help us to progress our growth plans.

“Securing our new premises was a major step forward and the support from the WLEGP will enable us to continue to grow our business and over the coming two years to create at least another 20 new jobs.”
